Tonight's reading dealt with Nephi and his brothers going to the house of Ishmael. Laman and Lemuel were exhorted by Nephi which angered them and caused them to bind him. My favorite part of Nephi's exhortion was in Chapter 7 Verse 12 which reads, "Yeah, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him."
When reading Chapter 8, which tells of Lehi's vision of the tree of life, I kept thinking, "What if it was my dad who was having the vision? What if he saw me as one of the people who did not partake of the fruit?" I like to think that if I was in that situation I would hold fast to the rod.
In Chapter 10, Verses 18 and 19 stood out to me. Verse 18 speaks of the consistency of the Father and that we must repent. And Verse 19 talks about how if you seek it, you will find it through the power of the Holy Ghost. I really like scriptures like that one. "Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you."
